Pataleshwar Caves - Pune

Searching for "Pateleshwar" pronounced as it is made it virtually impossible to locate the place. I went to visit the caves and went round and round a couple of times before I finally spotted the location. The best landmark is the Jangli Maharaj temple just adjacent to the cave. Couldn't believe that there would be such a beautiful cave in the midst of the now-so-called concrete city - Pune. If you are looking for the location, just ask for the Jangli Maharaj temple , another landmark is the Honda showroom and Standard Charted Bank on the opposite side of the road. There are no specific markings or indications near the place, only a small gate. We reached at around 17:30 hrs and it was cloudy. Was wishing it wouldn't rain and the climate did support that day. The entrance leads to a descend and one gets to see the " Circular Nandi Mandapa ". On the way, on both the sides there were some people sitting mostly senior citizens appeared to be more like regul...

My life in Flickr world

its very funny sometimes when one realises how his life has changed in the past few months. Like my life did after I joined flickr approximately an year back. I was looking for photographer on orkut and I got in touch with Mohith last year and asked him few questions on capturing photos during rainy seasons as I loved one of his photos very much. He encouraged me to get logged in to flick and then started my journey in Flickr. Initial days was just ok as I used flickr to share my photos. Slowly realised there were some groups and I could share my photos there too and get some feedbacks. Then started the saga for waiting for comments. Trust me.. I just love it when somebody gives me a comment. Through orkut itself I got in touch with a wonderful person. Her name is Rathika, and shes known in orkut world as Radzzz and I call her with the same name. I was zapped when I saw the photographs she had captured. She seemed to be completely into wildlife photography. Again, I asked her some tips...

Does GOD Exists???

I was going through a community on the existence of GOD and some text got sequenced and I thought of posting in my Blog. The question was if 'GOD' exist and people started arguments using their 'own' god. most of the good guys answered yes or no. thats was simple. After customising 'GOD' according to ones own religion we fail in our effort to win on the fact that GOD exists, because if he existed, then he wouldn't make his team of believers weak by dividing into religions, who have to win over other religions more importantly than the atheists. Well, lets get back to our topic. We exists. thats the truth. in any form or any way. And most importantly, inside us the existence of 'BELIEF' in any form makes us live our life or survive for the next day. The worst of the 'feelings' inside us, that is 'FEAR', makes us do and think in a way where we become dependent on some 'SOCIAL' figures that may include 'MAN' or "MAN ...

Youth..... What is it?

Image
___________------- YOUTH -------- ___________ ( I read this at Dalhousie Youth Hostel ) Youth is not a time of life; it is a state of mind; it is not a matter of rosy cheeks, red lips and supple knees; it is a matter of the will, a quality of the imagination, a vigor of the emotions; it is the freshness of the deep springs of life. Youth means a temperamental predominance of courage over timidity of the appetite, for adventure over the love of ease. This often exists in a man of sixty more than a body of twenty. Nobody grows old merely by a number of years. We grow old by deserting our ideals. Years may wrinkle the skin, but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul. Worry, fear, self-distrust bows the heart and turns the spirit back to dust. Whether sixty or sixteen, there is in every human being's heart the lure of wonder, the unfailing child-like appetite of what's next, and the joy of the game of living. In the center of your heart and my heart there is a wireless st...

My Experiences during the YHAI Goa trek 2006-07 -- Part 2

Its 09:30 of another Delhi winter Saturday and I am listening to my favorite track - Nostalgia by Yanni, the tune which makes me feel refreshed. Trying to recollect the last day's experience at Goa. Its ot very difficult as things are as fresh as it was on 24th Dec -06. It was 23rd evening and I was almost packed and ready to go. I had my train reservation on 25th to Kerala. I had planned the trip with 24 buffered to see how Goa celebrates Christmas. It was evening now and we, Suresh, Kiran (he is the cool Reddy garu in the earlier part, I just came to know his full name that evening), Satish, Me, Manesa and the naughty little girl Mandara, went out to check out for some restaurant at Panaji and to have some feel of the night there. We were accompanied by Nayan and Amol. Since I was looking for an accommodation for the 24th night at Goa, I was in the lookout for a hotel room for that night. If you are looking for an accommodation during the Christmas or New year time, mind you, its...

My Experiences during the YHAI Goa trek 2006-07

I reached back home yesterday evening and after settling my stuffs, started writing whatever I could recollect. Please ignore any spell mistake or grammatical ones. I just wrote as it came to my mind. Here it goes..... The day started on 15th morning and I got ready for my long awaited trip to the wild nature. It was the initial stages of Delhi’s winter and the temp was a bit low though it didn’t matter much as I was excited about my forthcoming travel. The excitement of hearing the powerful horn of the electric engine and the imagination of seeing the moving engine while the train takes a turn was all over my mind. BTW, I wanted to be a Diesel engine driver in my childhood ;-). Left home at around 08:15 hrs and said goodbye to my sis who was at home on a short vacation. Reached the station at 09:00 hrs and got into S1, placed my stuffs at UP 19 and waited for the train to move. 09:30 hrs and the powerful horn indicated that I was about to start my vacation in the next second and it di...
